Hi,

Great news! Housing.com now accepts rent payments from AMEX Credit Cards, offering a more convenient method for transactions.

It appears that this service is currently available for two categories: "Home Service" and "Education Payments."

A beneficial option is to consider their Credit Plus Subscription, which reduces convenience fees with each payment. By selecting the "Education Category," you can enjoy a flat 15% discount on fees, lowering the convenience fee to just 1.4%, the lowest rate available. I did total transactions of Rs 60,000 and everytime it went through unlike mobikwik which fails most of the time.

To get started, feel free to use my referral link to access Housing.com
Use my invite code "40ifh" while making your first payment to get instant discount up to ₹300. 💸
Install the app by clicking here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3TtitEt & select “Pay on Credit” on the first screen.

around 1.4 % on the rent (with referral + Credit plus discount)

Here's the breakup
Rent -> 60,000
Convenience fees (w/o GST) -> 895
Referral discount (one time) -> -179
Credit plus discount (every time) -> -63
Convenience fees (with GST) -> 770
Total paid -> 60,770
With Credit plus cost accrued -> 60,837
This is ~ 1.4 %

For the second month onward ->
Rent -> 60,000
Convenience fees (w/o GST) -> 895
Referral discount (one time) -> NIL
Credit plus discount (every time) -> -63
Convenience fees (with GST) -> 982
Total paid -> 61,982
With credit plus cost accrued -> 61049
This is ~ 1.75 %

Credit plus is 199 for 3 months (67 per month)

Please let me know in case of any queries.

What about Amex Charges ? I believe amex also charges 1% + GST on Rent transactions ??? And does this amount counts towards milestones benefits ?

Yes .. will have to enter the pan number of the recipient.
The thing is govt should mandate issuance of House with Multiple Occupancy License for both landlord as an individual 1st & banks as institution comply with creation of separate vostro accounts + disclose PAN + rental payments receipts or else face penalties for tax evasion.

That way slum landlords will be reduced along with rotation etc and all other b.s

So, basically here they are asking for education fees prrof....and not of rent!

Is there any difference in charges in paying rent vs education on housing through Amex?
