Mass Fraudulent Transactions Reported by Axis Bank Credit Card Holders

Ever since Mr. Sanjeev Moghe was made the President and Head of their Credit Cards' business in mid 2022, they have gone downhill. The leadership team must replace him as soon as possible unless they want their credit card business to shut down, too.

So I have repeatedly for months and few years
  • gotten calls from people pretending to be Axis HQ
    • and seem to have quite a many STOLEN PERSONAL DETAILS,
    • which could lead to fraud that falls on customers head instead of the Bank,
    • with or without customers adding to the stolen details
  • I've shared these with them over whatsapp etc,
But now I am thinking this ought to be documented over email/ writing and then escalated to NO/ PNO and RBI.

If not any action but to atleast COVER our ass in case fraud does occur, we informed them and they are now liable instead of us.

Hi all
After the citibank migration, the fraud has started again and there were 8 Transactions of USD1000 each attempted on my migrated citibank card - they declined 5 but 3 went through. All are AWS Transactions.

Have raised dispute with Axis within 20 min of getting those SMS

Pls be careful

Fraud happened on citi migrated card or Axis card?

You can do after 4pm today - they haven't activated control center for Citi Cards
It’s purely fault on Axis Bank too
How can they disable user control
Like AmEx where if we on online txns the system gives full limit access to online spend but if we want we can limit to what extent

Received fraud transaction decline sms and email today from Axis

"Please note that transaction attempt for USD 19 on your Axis Bank Credit Card no. XXxx has been declined due to security reasons"

Fortunately International transactions were disabled, will block and replace the card soon

This could be a data leak from anyone. Even my amex got hit with random charges.

There's no data privacy or protection in India, not even a slap on the wrist for the negligence of a lot of companies here regarding data security.

Specially around the CC sector half the country's data is probably sitting in random ass computers, phones and being sent on platforms like WhatsApp.

I'm surprised how there's no more cybercrime happening with the levels of stolen/leaked data just floating around.
