Today I am sharing one of my bad experiences with kotak.
3 years back opened kotak 811 0 bal a/c, due to internal policies 811 cc got rejected. In Aug 2023 took kaching card after so many persual from cc dept and they gave me limit of 15,000.Upgraded to kaching xl in dec 2023 and till date with the limit of 23K.LE given merely 4K which I rejected. So after visiting home branch for some banking related queries and transactions, I got frustrated and requested for closure of digital a/c and that too got closed by branch after 2 days when I reported it to customer care.
This 3rd March 2025 I went and discussed for opening kotak privy platinum salary account and they readily agreed. During discussion employee said that they will give me Black for a year, I didn't said anything but emphasized to open salary a/c.
Since my CRN is alive though my 811 a/c closed bank staff discussed something which raised my suspicion.He took my cheque book and filled the initial deposit of 5lac and when I saw that I said I will be giving 3lac now and he started making puppy face saying,"Sir ab bhar diya hoo, sign krdijiye." They were not able to give me customized a/c no. and I followed up with them whether my a/c his platinum variant or not and branch employee kept saying,"Aree sir mai hoo sab hojaayega".
I got the normal everyday savings a/c welcome kit and just went to the branch and questioned them what it is? Again, his reply that I am looking into it. He contacted his senior for change of SBS code and gave me excuse next day,"Sir naya branch hai abhi id nahi map hui hai". He generated an SR and by himself closed it.I was patient till yesterday and then I dialled to customer care and call got escalated to senior and he took the RM on call and he started making excuses. Today(22/03/2025)I went to another branch of kotak in my city and they checked the SR. They said that we are looking into it. Looked at my salary slip and I informed them that my company is now open to all banks. They called to someone in backend team and then I got a reply that I cannot open my salary a/c with them as they have blocked COCO(dont ask about it to me, I also dont know) of my employer.
Again, a new bad experience after one in past from Kotak.
