Non BBPS payments via 3rd party apps to be stopped by RBI forcing all banks to register as BBPS billers

RBI has directed all CC payments to be made using BBPS only.

3rd party apps to stop non bbps card payments from 1st July onwards.

Banks who are not registered as a BBPS biller have been given time till 30th June but 90 days extension has been sought from RBI.

I was facing invalid biller error on adding icici card now to hdfc bill pay.

Even I am paying or rather forced to pay adjusted amount. As per RBI guidelines any Credit post statement generation has to be treated as payment.

I coudn't find that cashback related post but found that sbicard didn't consider refund as payment.

Paid 1000 via Hdfc Bill pay for icici cc today afternoon at 2.30pm. Got credited in icici at 3pm.

Again paid 15k at 9pm today. Got credited in icici card at 9.05 pm.

Both times it's showing in icici current statement as BBPS payment received. Good to see this instant credit of payment whereas earlier it used to take atleast 2-3 working days to received in icici.

Could not find any solution. Paid from ICICI saving acct via imobile.

Last mth AU bank treated refund against failed txn in Zomato as payment towards previous mth dues. It was a pleasant surprise.
