RBIO: Got compensation of Rs. 21000 from HSBC

Dear Friends,

Great success once again. Thanks to RBIO 🙏🙏🙏.

HSBC took around 2.5 months to deliver my addon card. Took around 7 calls lasting over 100 minutes and 3 mails. They kept sending the card to my old address in Mumbai in spite of confirming on call every time that address is updated to Kolkata address. They also failed to redirect the dispatched card to new address and card was returned to bank every time. In the process they also re-dispatched my primary card by mistake without any request for the same. After finally receiving the card, mailed HSBC for a compensation of Rs. 10,000 which they declined as usual, in spite of mentioning that they have recently paid me a compensation of 5K by BO order.

Next step was undoubtedly RBI Bamboo.

HSBC mailed in response to RBIO complaint and credited Rs. 1000 to my card on 12-Sep. In the response mail they tried to hide their incompetency and stated card has been delivered, however due to the delay they are paying a compensation of Rs. 1000 as a goodwill gesture. I replied stating please go through my complaint, all call date and time are given in my mail. Take out the call recording and see how you have harassed me for over 2 months.

Absolute silence since then, till I received the below mail from RBIO this morning 🙂

I quickly checked in net banking and found 20K credited to my card account on 19/11.

Wondering whether I should spend this amount using the card or ask them to transfer to my account. Usually banks ask for payment proof to transfer any credit balance from CC to bank account. In this case it was paid by HSBC. Not sure whether they will transfer or not, will give it a try. Last time they mailed me and took my account details and credited 5K in my IndusInd account. This time they didn't ask and directly credited to CC.
When u filed complaint with RBI?

Which RBI office?

I may be hated for this comment but I believe compensation is a bit higher.
Although from customer perspective it is good but justice for bank is equally important considering the fact that HSBC may not have done this intentionally.

The complaint is against deficiency of service, lost time, harassment and mental anguish. No one ever mentioned anything about HSBC intentionally doing anything.

I have escalated to RBI for my closed credit card (card closed in 2021) with Standard Chartered and have asked for compensation since my first complain is dated Aug-23 and card is still active on Cibil today. Standard chartered reached back saying they will give 3k as compensation. I have written back saying will not accept and will escalate again to RBI if not given.
Am waiting for then to come back with a response.
Did you write to RBI regarding the low compensation that HSBC offered or the bank? How do I go about this if they refuse to give a decent amount?

Congrats, your success rate is just damm high.

Consider my request for RBI bamboo masterclass for our TF members.

I hope one day I will achieve my ulterior motive wherein banks will no longer harass customers and will focus on customer delight.
Looking at this inspiring story, I am also thinking to write up my own success story against Federal bank. Will def spend some time and write it up. It'll inspire others as well, for not accepting injustice like this. Hats off buddy.

@sjmajumder bhai
People are asking you how your success rate is so good.
Am asking why all such issues happen with you, that too for all different banks.
..
For eg., I have taken 6 addons from 4 different banks, all were received in hand within about a week.

My Lord 👑
Seeking ur apaar success, I too today filed two complaints against Axes bank for AIS reporting issue.
Matter: Mailed in June but issue resolved in Oct/Nov. Seriously they took 6 months😳

Asked 50k compensation

Kya lagta hai. Insights.......✌🏻
Did it involve any financial loss?
How much follow up you had to do?
What is the banks explanation for the delay?
Did you ask bank for compensation? What was their response?

Thanks for sharing your stories and experience with RBI BO

Mumbai BO is super slow. They take months to close complaint, whenever bank is at fault. Eg. complaint of Mar 2024, where bank tried to close saying some gibberish response. BO sent me mail in June, attaching bank's response and asking me to confirm within 4 days if complaint can be considered closed or not. I sent all details and informed that case far from being resolved. And since then just stuck/pending.

Not sure how to escalate or follow-up as emails are not replied back.

Man You are a legend. I love your commitment and teaching these bastards a lesson.
I also feel Kolkatta RBIO is awesome. Ours is useless. (Ahmedabad/Gujarat) They just close cases and do not even talk about compensation as soon as the issue is resolved.

I have recently taken a credit card from AU Bank.
Below is the link (which is advertised on every page of the aubank website)
But this link does not work:

The problem is that when I enter a mobile number, and fill in the OTP, the DNC webpage goes back to the same webpage and does not go ahead to the next webpage.

In last few days, I have sent emails and complained in Twitter. Also sent two emails to PNO. CS obviously don't understand this or don't care. PNO only sends standard copy-paste response to contact customer care email.

I want them to fix it obviously,
not interested in ₹.
Can we involve RBIO?
