Rupay on UPI - MyGate payments no longer working

Hello Folks,

Up until last month, i always paid my society dues like maintenance and electricity on MyGate app using paytm/bharatpe UPI on credit card(hdfc tata neu infinity card) and they always worked fine.

However, when i try to do the same for this month, they are failing with some message like "not allowed". Is anyone here experiencing these issues? What's the point of this rupay cc on UPI if it doesn't work at all..

Looks like we are doomed with no option. Without this option, I don't see any use/advantage of Rupay cards at all...

Probably they disabled the CC UPI payment.

If you have Icici paylater, use it. Paylater comes with upi id

Since there is MDR charged on payments above 2K, it looks like this is causing an issue. For other instruments, apps such as Adda, Mygate transfer the MDR to customers, which they are not able to do for Card on UPI payments above 2K, so they disabled it. This is my reading. Experts can correct me or add additional insights

Nope. Did not work for me on Adda.

Yep. Didn't work for me either. They seems to have blocked all transactions through UPI/cc irrespective of amount.

I am not sure if there is a system which enables to have switch for Card on UPI for 2K vs <2K transactions yet. So card on UPI is either ON or OFF completely for all transactions it seems

There actually is an option inside Paytm and GPay Business apps (must be the same for PhonePe as well but i personally haven't tried it) where you can select if transactions over 2k on UPI CC will be accepted or not.
So in this case looks like they have completely removed it.
*in case of big corporations these Business apps/services might run differently. I'm just sharing my experience.

Same issue for me. I usually use HDFC Tata Infinity card but now unable to do.

I even checked with different upi rupay cards & none worked.

On PhonePe and Paytm Business QR, it has mostly stopped working. I guess by default the option is closed. But on GPay, Bhim and BharatPe QR there's a 100% success rate for me.

Bro, only mygate payment is not working for me, no issue with other merchant payments.

Same situation for me too. Works fine with other merchants but looks MyGate did something to block/reject these transactions.

Actually i was speaking in general.
The normal Paan/kirana shops lately are also not accepting

It is because when you try to pay p2p, hdfc bank knows that transaction is p2p, so it rejects transaction. If the merchant have current account or merchant account registered in upi. Then the transaction p2b, and hdfc will successfully completed the transaction.

Even my rupay debit card (0% convenience fee) doesn’t work. I guess without paying fee no way to get benefit
