Hello Folks,

FYI I have recently managed to get my SBI Cashback credit card converted to LTF through an email request 🙂

I have been using the card now from more than 2 years with last 2 years spends crossing 2lacs & have got fee waiver against the same.
Few days back just thought of writing email to SBI team requesting them to consider converting my Cashback card to LTF basis my past spend records without having strong expectation of getting any success.

As a first response got a call from SBI executive mentioning about no such offer available at present on the card to convert it to LTF. And asked me to wait to get offer in future.
But just before the end of the call he asked me if I will continue making similar amount spends on the card if converted to LTF. After confirmation he raised a request for me to change PCTID (for LTF conversion) for the card without giving any assurance that it will be approved.

And after 4-5 days, I got another update on the ticket about successful closure and card converted to LTF.
Something good to cheer about during this devaluation days of Credit cards & also having this as 3rd LTF card from SBI now 🙂

can you add screenshots with dates when you sent email and to whom etc?

LTF for cashback card is easy and possible.
I sent it to Level 1 customer service last week, and they denied it within hours—even though it was a Sunday, lol!

I'm planning to send another email directly to the customer service head in the last week of March, as you suggested.

My SIL's prime card was on 6th yr renewal, they declined for LTF as her spends were very less and she has been paying the fees like frm last 6 yrs. I got to know abt this 1 month back, I pushed very hard for her LTF but no avail, they even declined for fee waiver but then closure req. got them to waive off the fee. I have noticed tenure really doesn't count for much, it's mostly abt spending. My cousin got CB card LTF after spending more than 2L in 4 months time and got LTF approved within 1st yr.
Yes, it is all about spending and repayment also when you hit your fee waiver criteria last 2 years show your relationship with the bank and that you are willing to continue it in the future.

Is it like any condition LTF?

They will never approve your request. Requests are approved on many factors, majorly it is spends + tenure of your relationship with SBICard. Most imp, if you asked for LTF and your spends were less than 2L, approval will never be given even if you are a decade old customer.
what makes you so confident? I have spent >10L in last 2.5 years. all my annual charges were waived off.
anyway will try next month
