Unipay Payment failed

Hi,
I paid my ICICI Amazon card bill using SBI Unipay portal 3 days ago.
(I've used this portal many times in the past, always worked).

The payment went through, it said successful, and everything was fine. I then ignored it.
I was checking the ICICI portal daily and it never reflected the payment.

Today i opened Unipay again, and it says payment failed.... no reason, just failed.
I can see the amount is deducted from my bank to the portal.
I find it very absurd that Unipay says successful one day and another day failed.

Also there are no details as to when the refund will come, what happened to the funds etc.

Any help here?

Thanks a lot.

You should always check your CC limit after payment and also for next 3-4 days keep checking the status.

Recently on Unipay, I paid Axis Bank and it was settled instantly. EMail said txn is successful but SMS that came 6 hrs later sais your txn is failed. As it was settled instantly in my Axis CC, I kept checking till due date as if there occurs a reversal. It didn't and everything went normal.

But in your case your CC didn't received it instantly and most of payments via BBPS are settled within seconds. If it doesn't then assume it will never after 4 hrs wait.

P.S: Another thing is keep auto-pay always on and balance be maintained 24 hrs before due date equal to the due so that if there is a failure or reversal of manual payment made through TPAs, it gets settled from your savings account.

For manual payments, ALWAYS SETTLE YOUR CC DUE 7 DAYS BEFORE DUE DATE AND NEVER PAY ON BANK HOLIDAYS.

@Marshallgv2 , it happened to me as well and got it refunded automatically after 5 days as there were public holiday as i paid early before my due dates i didn't had issues.. just imaging if paid on the last day and the above scenario happens..!

I think too much failure in Unipay
If failure happens before money gets deducted, then it is no problem for us
But if it fails after money gets deducted, too painful
I suggest to pay only in small amounts or move to another portal
It happened to me and I have to raise a chargeback with HDFC and I got it back after 45 days...
for 45 days, my money was stuck..

Since Nov 1 there is a strange issue with BBPS itself that after 09:30 AM txns are hit or miss kind of thing till 12:30 PM. Same happens between 01:30PM-3:30PM, it is hit or miss. So I always doing it either before 9AM in morning or after 07:30 PM in evening.

Really appreciate your obervation...
I will follow it...

2 of my txns showed "session timeout" error. money got deducted but didnt reflect in the card, so paid again, waiting for refund. txn was done on 29th nov, so will wait for end of this week before raising a ticket.

You will get failed txn reversed in ur acc. on Friday or Saturday evening max.

Tried to pay 35k bill on Unipay and it failed even at this morning time. Money deducted so wait started now for refund.

I also did for HDFC today at 08:10 AM and it went through successfully. Why you took risk with 35K amt. I always do 5K as first to test.

It seems some billers have issues currently rather than BBPS. And I forgot that failure rate is high in end and start of month from 28-30 and 1-4 after that it settes down. Just my observation from the pattern of failed txns I had. Every month end/start of month, banks do something with system (maybe reconcilation of full month/some kind of upgrade) which is responsible for these failed txns. IT team has to scale up things with txns increasing almost everyday. So hiccups will always be there.

It's for hdfc cc bill. I could have done part payment but not sure if I would have allowed another part payment later on for hdfc. I know for other bank cc, I can do multiple part payments.
