When can we get HDFC preferred salary account?

Hello there after posting here and getting suggestions I opened account in HDFC for my salary as I wanted DCB later.

Also I received my salary in the same account recently. I read on the forum that by maintaining some amount in account we can ask for preferred upgrade.

I asked the person who opened my account about it he made me talk with Preferred RM, he told me that my account is in some other group and hence he can not convert it in preferred is it so?

I basically want preferred account because, I saw on Technofino YT channel that no salary proof is required to apply for card when we have classic/preferred account.

How can I push for preferred account?

Just open a savings max account with 25k min balance and keep 2L average balance for 1-3 months , you will get mail automatically. I
f you keep 1L you will get classic upgrade option.

If you're satisfying that, you should've already gotten a preferred account.

If he doesn't, you may consider shifting your branch to some other convenient branch, that may help you with your endeavour

Yeah I am thinking to contact BM only I am maintaining well over 2 lacs from a few days and will keep it there only for most of the time.

Will also ask for IP requirements for new Imperia/Preferred as in your other post you told they are 0 AMB so can’t hurt to collect those if this one can’t be upgraded soon.

Not that i know, but if you keep 2L in account you will surely get. That's the easiest way . Other one works only if RM is good and supportive.

Savings Max isn't necessary. I have classic in 5K mab regular a/c

So its depends on your salary which account variety you will get.
I think there is a confusion between savings & salary account inthe comments.

AFAIK, salary a/c might not matter.

Yes I am, but I saw a few post earlier that keeping balance gave them option to upgrade as well just like normal

I did contact preferred RM but he said he can’t upgrade I an in some other group , etc etc sounded like excuse to me though

As per tncs 2L mab is required. But they won't charge for non maintenance. They can downgrade, but that's a very rare case. My father has preferred for more than 10yrs and he doesn't maintain even 1k

Kuch fayeda hota hai preferred account ka? Mera toh 3 mahine se classic account hai, kuch nai diya bank walo ne. Bas app aur Netbanking me classic likha hua aa jata hai

I don't think is necessary to maintain anything in salary account, they will not downgrade as long as the salary credit.

These managed programs in HDFC Banks are a mess.

Some of us are managed by virtual relationship manager and some of us by physical branch executives.

I was maintaining 2 Lacs+ for like 8 months, and my virtual Classic Banking manager used to say, why do want to migrate to Preferred Banking, did you not like my service? 🙂.

It was a task of my life, to then get released from the clutches of Virtual Classic Banking Relationship Manager and get into grabs of another Virtual Preferred relationship Manager.

I am managed by Pune Zone Virtual Manager, even though in Noida, my Spouse has relationship manager in Noida branch, and parents are in another zone through virtual relationship manager. All of us have preferred account, and maintained 2L+ in Savings Bank Account.

For six months I tried my level best, mails, phone calls and tweets to club all there accounts under the same Family Banking and Relationship Manager but to no avail. No relationship will release his account to another. Its utterly mismanaged.

To cut the long story, if you are managed by someone other than your branch, your branch can not upgrade you to Preferred Banking, even if you meet the criteria.

Either the offer will be auto generated by system, or only your relationship manager can convert / upgrade.

i got a message, when my salary crossed 1l, and it redirected to their virtual assistant eva, it promted me yes / no for a upgrade, i clicked yes, after 2-3 days, i got upgraded.
