I have generated Firstap debit card but I see that the limit provided is 1L and that would essentially mean that I can't make the transaction for more than 1L a day.
Also, when I tried making 1L payment on my HDFC CC using PhonePe, it didn't allow for some goddamn security reason. Any insights?

Yes, some phonepe account showing security error wait 48hrs or contact phonepe support

or use any other phonepe account.

Wait max 4 months they will debit the fee. This is one time fee no annual charges.

Got the SMS today that please maintain sufficient balance as 99+ GST will be deducted for Firstap. Applied on 21st Feb. Used multiple times, no points till now though

Yes they do. Got this SMS 3 weeks after getting the card:

“Dear Customer, Your IDFC FIRST Bank Savings A/c ending xxxxx will be debited with Rs.99+GST as one-time issuance fee for FIRSTAP. Request you to maintain sufficient balance in your A/c. Click to add funds:”

First transaction almost 10 days back and 2nd transaction 2 days back

Idfc going to patch this soon. No reward point received for march transaction. Transaction done on 1st and 2nd march. In feb reward points received mostly in 24 to 48 hr for phonepe transaction. Lets wait for 15 days and we will find out.

First transaction almost 10 days back and 2nd transaction 2 days back

Minimum 14 days required as per idfc system. Its running in batches, if you do near to the batch time and you will think points credited in as soon as the transaction is done.
