Which Debit or Credit Card Have You Closed (or Plan to) in 2025 & Why?

None, i already sorted down my portfolio of cards to 5 cards.

Regalia Gold maybe upgraded to dcbm for daily usage
Tata Neu Infinity for upi payments
Sbi Cashback for online usage
Amazon Pay ICICI for backup and oldest card
Icici Coral RuPay for backup

Will not apply any card for this year.

Kiwi is bettter than neu BS for UPI.

Apay is just extra CL on CIBIL as SBI CB covers apay mostly in everything (except the 5k limit)

Coral/rupay etc all waste tbh.

I closed my apay (5 yrs old card) yesterday. Was quite emotional letting it go but gotta get my portfolio down.

Still those are backup cards, rarely used in a month to keep them active.

Apay is mostly used for fuel purchase, coral is whenever on upi infinity fails.

Keeping too many cards was okay but headache was in keeping them active.

Closing the Apay is a big mistake, it is not only useful for Amazon but it also covers other spending where I am not sure about the MCC.
For me even that 1% makes sense when the amount is bigger. Even when I pay the education fees for my cousin, we get a flat 1% CB.

agreed i am not saying to keep more cards, just close apay imo, get kiwi for upi (I never ever had any failure with kiwi rupay yesbank)

and for fuel, RBL IOCL is best.

I am also feeling 2025 should be year of declutter after collecting so many in 2024. Please advice-
ICICI Amazon Pay- this is now oldest..will stay
ICICI Emerald Metal -got 3months back only simple 3% and fees more than met by joining benefits and feel renewal get same points, will keep it.
SBI Simplysave Rupay - only rupay card and cheapest sbi card just to avail any offer
HDFC Diner Metal - slow upgrade from moneyback to millenia to regalia Gold to Diner Metal now- most used card now.
Amex Travel and MRCC - collected 1lacs points in last 12months but what to do with points and cards now. Doubtful should I bother keeping? Mostly don't have spend for it. Only reason maybe to put some bekaar spend like Income tax to achieve milestone but now Diner Metal is better also considering can pay bill from Idfc debit card.
Tata Neu Infinity - ltf for me though many criticize it lot but I like it lot especially for Tata brands and 3 times in last one year I got best rates for Taj/ Gateway hotels through offers here. Only Tata brand spends here.
Axis Atlas - recently taken just to see if it suits. Already doubtful what to do with it with so many exclusions even for milestones.
IDFC Wealth and Mayura- wealth just for being ltf and Mayura will certainly close though among all this is best looking cards but now looks shouldn't matter😃
Overall now putting most spends on Diners Metal and Atlas where Diner doesn't work.
Should I close Atlas/ Amex/ IDFC cards or some of these.
All advice welcome.
