I need to stay at Courtyard by Mariott, Madurai (TN) for 2-3 days in the last week of January 2025. What is the best way to book a room? I used to use Amazon pay and Apay ICICI credit card for hotel booking. But is there a better way? (Can anyone with Mariott membership book on behalf of me at a better rate? Or is there any other alternative?) Looking for suggestions, please DM if needed. Thanks!

Payzapp query
I installed and signed up to Payzapp app without having an hdfc bank account. While installing it asked whether I have an account and if yes I had to enter the account number etc.
But since I didn't have the account i skipped this part.
I uninstalled and installed the app again but this time it was not asking for bank account, it directly went in to the dashboard.
Now in future when I open HDFC Bank account, can I link it to Payzapp?
Has anyone tried https://ccreward.app/? How is it?

Slowly I am moving from other cards to HDFC card ecosystem. Just using 2 cards now - Swiggy and Neu Infinity.
Have been comfortable with Swiggy over the last 1 year or so. Cashbacks have been regular, no need to follow up and things like that. That's why I thought of taking the second HDFC card - Neu Infinity. Just got this card today. I think it will be good for me. Planning to move most of the transactions to these two cards. Will be using the neu card mostly for offline swipes and UPI scans. Because that's the most unorganised place for me now.
The only minus point is - both are paid cards and both have annual fees. I need to spend a total of ₹ 5L to waive off the fees. Maybe that's doable but not very sure. I'll try for an year or so and see how it goes. Meanwhile in parallel I am writing mails to hdfc customer care to make it lifetime free. But that maynot work out soon.
Another thing is moving my salary account too to HDFC. So that I'll be getting some of their core cards as well. All that is planned after 4-6 months from now.

I have set up a standing instruction for Rs 999 in ICICI credit card. The payee name is shown as viacom18 but I can't remember what is this for. I searched everywhere but I don't see any service related to viacom18. Does anyone has this standing instruction for 999 rs yearly with payee as viacom18?
The only thing I could find out is it is somehow related to Reliance Industries. But I don't exactly understand what service it is. Any idea how can I find this out?
So, I've been taking a hard look at my credit cards and realized I've got way too many. They just don't fit my spending habits anymore.
To keep things simple, I'm sticking with these few: ICICI Apay, and HDFC Swiggy for online shopping. For UPI payments, Coral Rupay, and Sapphiro for smaller stuff.
That's it! No more keeping unwanted and unused cards. Clearing up my wallet for now. Maybe I'll find a better card later, but for now, I'm good. Need some time away to clear the clutter and get fresh air in.
Sad realisations of the week.
1. With 1.8L salary, I won't get any wealth/priority/premier salary accounts. It atleast needs 2L+ net credit per month. Here ICICI is kind enough to upgrade me to their (good for nothing) wealth management variant. Thanks but no thanks.
2. I don't have the high TRV these guys ask, because I don't have any big ticket loans, no FDs too. So TRV based upgrade is also not possible.
3. Same for super premium/luxury cards as well. Since no high income, no higher variant wealth account and no linked high-end credit cards.
4. Spends are very low. Family's (4 people) full expense is around 60k per month. That means 5L per year. Super premium cards need me to upgrade my lifestyle and spending. So those are also unreachable as of now.
5. Paying high fees and getting a card, but if that doesn't match with my spends, it's of no use. So not going for premium cards as well.
Overall, it was a nice week.
Is there a workaround or possibility to get out of this circle, other than increasing the net salary? If there are any thoughts, please share.
So I added one more card - IDFC First Wealth. LTF, 4L limit. Got it approved today.
I never got this card when I needed. Now after all the devaluation and stripping off everything, IDFC Folks are running behind people to issue these cards left right and center. It's of no use other than any specific offer for IDFC First.
Got it just because I don't have a Visa Infinite variant otherwise.
