So, I've been taking a hard look at my credit cards and realized I've got way too many. They just don't fit my spending habits anymore.

To keep things simple, I'm sticking with these few: ICICI Apay, and HDFC Swiggy for online shopping. For UPI payments, Coral Rupay, and Sapphiro for smaller stuff.

That's it! No more keeping unwanted and unused cards. Clearing up my wallet for now. Maybe I'll find a better card later, but for now, I'm good. Need some time away to clear the clutter and get fresh air in.

Sad realisations of the week.

1. With 1.8L salary, I won't get any wealth/priority/premier salary accounts. It atleast needs 2L+ net credit per month. Here ICICI is kind enough to upgrade me to their (good for nothing) wealth management variant. Thanks but no thanks.

2. I don't have the high TRV these guys ask, because I don't have any big ticket loans, no FDs too. So TRV based upgrade is also not possible.

3. Same for super premium/luxury cards as well. Since no high income, no higher variant wealth account and no linked high-end credit cards.

4. Spends are very low. Family's (4 people) full expense is around 60k per month. That means 5L per year. Super premium cards need me to upgrade my lifestyle and spending. So those are also unreachable as of now.

5. Paying high fees and getting a card, but if that doesn't match with my spends, it's of no use. So not going for premium cards as well.

Overall, it was a nice week.

Is there a workaround or possibility to get out of this circle, other than increasing the net salary? If there are any thoughts, please share.

So I added one more card - IDFC First Wealth. LTF, 4L limit. Got it approved today.
I never got this card when I needed. Now after all the devaluation and stripping off everything, IDFC Folks are running behind people to issue these cards left right and center. It's of no use other than any specific offer for IDFC First.
Got it just because I don't have a Visa Infinite variant otherwise.

I lost my SBI debit card somehwere. Unable to track it. Just to understand - will they give the same card variant as replacement or will they give some other variant? (I had visa platinum debit card, not sure if these idiots will lower the variant when they replace it). How can I ensure I get the higher variant itself?

Did Anyone get your ICICI credit card statement for the bill generated on the 12th of this month? Usually, I get the email by the 12th evening, but now it is the 14th and I still haven't received this month's bill by email. Anyway, the cashback has been credited to my Amazon Pay balance. But for Sapphiro and Apay, the bills are not in the email yet.

I'm looking to book 2 flight tickets from Cochin to Chennai (and return) for the first week of June. Usually, I book on Amazon because their rates are lower and they offer cashback on Amazon Pay ICICI card. But I'm open to other alternatives. Also, I need to book a hotel room and I usually use makemytrip for that. Any tips on getting discounts or reduced rates would be greatly appreciated.

To invest in mutual funds and stocks, your KYC status must be in the Validated state. If your status is Registered or in any other state, please visit the nearest CAMS or KARVY office and provide your Aadhaar and PAN to validate it. I got mine updated. It took almost a week.

I just closed my ICICI Coral Rupay Credit card. I wasn't using it at all, not even once after getting it. Plus, I already have Amazon Pay and Sapphiro, which cover all my needs. One less card means one more point of peace.

For those who depend on Swiggy for food delivery, dineout, genie, etc., the HDFC Swiggy Card is very useful. It also gives 5% cashback on Ola bookings.
Overall, it is a good cashback card after Amazon Pay ICICI card.
