Axis Airtel Card cashback blunder.

I recently got Axis Airtel Card and on generation of statement, I realised that any bill payments done on Airtel App, be it Airtel bills or others, is being counted under 25% category. This means that there is no way to tap into Rs 500 monthly utility bill payment benefit as of now.

Refer to the screenshot below. The only payment in this month was for my electricity bill of Rs 1595 and cashback shown is Rs 300 whereas it should have been Rs 159.5.



Fellow community members, I would request you to keep above in mind while getting this card or wait till Axis settles these reporting issues with Airtel.

What is the correct option to get 10% cashback for electricity bill - personalise your experience- Maybe later or Allow?

It doesn't affect Cashback. However 'Maybe later' would be a better option.

I see, still I see it as win-win situation; infact more than that.

If we get cashback of 300/month on paying electricity bill through Airtel, then in a year it is 300*12=3600 which way greater than the annual fees i.e. 500+GST.

If we pay electricity bill on quarterly basis, then in a year it is 300*4=1200 then, also it is justified when compared with the annual fees.

Its actually quite the devaluation I have an axis Airtel cc and as you are saying all the categories are treated like 25% then the maximum you can earn is 300 but I personally have been getting upwards of 500 every month as i have to pay a lot of electricity bills 4000 to 5000 each month also some swiggy and the usual mobile recharge for my family it’s actually very bad for me

Airtel Recharges, Postpaid, DTH, Broadband- 25%
Water, Gas, Electricity- 10%

Airtel specific broadband supports 25% whereas for others it might give 10%

What is the cashback % if we recharge a jio number using airtel axis card and Thanks app ?

Can confirm that I have received 10% for this jio recharge of Rs. 239.

10% of 1055 ( gas refill ) + 10% of 239 ( jio )+ 25% of 899 ( xstream ) adds up to approx. 352 ( they may be rounding down cashback to integer values )

Yes Axis System assumed Jio Recharge as utility

Mine is Visa variant but now they're issuing Mastercard variant since December.

That's my concern. Mine is MC too but MC's site doesn't have this listed under axis bank. So most likely can't get those offers. Also, they have a different list of airport lounges on their site compared to axis's list, which one would be applicable?

Personal use hi consider hoga. Or 10% Cashback milega

You will get. Single electricity bill payment in a billing cycle will be considered personal only. Moreover, no one uses airtel card for business purposes due to capping. Those guys prefer ace card
