Hello all,

I am buying a car of ~14.5L and convinced showroom to fully use credit card. I have number of credit cards and trying to decide which card to use. I have following cards:

1. HDFC Diners privilege - 4.5L
2. HDFC Rupay UPI card - 4.5L
3. HDFC Tata Neu Infinity - 4.5L
4. ICICI Sapphiro Amex - 6.9L
5. ICICI Sapphiro MC - 6.9L
6. ICICI Amazon Pay - 6.9L
7. ICICI Coral - 6.9L
8. Au lit - 3.85L
9. IDFC Select - 3.5L
10. Axis Kiwi - 3L
11. Axis Myzone - 3L
12. PNB Select - 2L
13. IndusInd Pinnacle - 4.5L
14. BOB Eterna - 2L
15. BOB HPCL - 2L
16. SBI SimplyClick - 1.17L
17. Yes Select - 2L
18. Yes Rupay - 2L
19. Amex MRCC - 3.8L
20. HSBC platinum - 3L
21. Federal Bank Imperio- 2.2L

If there is any card that can maximise benefit for this purchase, I can apply and try getting that card.

Thankyou!

Which car, which dealer? When I bought my last car, they didn't even agree to take CC payment even for accessories. The only thing I paid by CC was the booking amount of 11K and the 3 years comprehensive insurance of around 72K.

You might wanna consider debit card too.

Dealer agree for split payment??

IDFC DC will give 50000 pts for a swipe of abt 4.5L~

Curvv, Sagar motors, everything on CC.

Agreed I can consider DC too. DC would work too if I get good rewards. Which DC of IDFC btw?
You can go for IDFC wealth or Private. If you already hold any of these DCs, you can make one payment today and the next one tomorrow to maximise benefits by splitting payments in 2 months.

Whichever card you choose, do a test transaction first and confirm with the bank the MCC. Many dealers might use restricted MCC (like fuel, insurance etc) which may not earn full rewards.

Not true for every model.
its true for all models...They just created artificial waiting time for models like creta to create hype and FOMO. My neighbour bought creta with waiting time of 2 months in Dec'24 and when i checked the year and month of manufacture, it was April, 2024....A model with waiting period of 2 months, mfg date will not be beyond max 1 month

My driver bought Honda SP125 bike in Dec'24 and mfg month was same Dec'24 because it is highest selling model

Fact of the matter is that there is economic slowdown and people are now spending money wisely in anticipation of recession or future impact on their income.

I agree on FOMO and artificial waiting time, but not on discounts. Like I enquired whole state for Kia Carens 2nd top model, but couldn't secure a steal deal.

On top of that, forcing insurance, accessories, ceramic and extended warranty.

My Kia dealership never forced insurance on me. Sure they insist but if you are firm, then they don't pursue. Same is the case with accessories or extended warranty.

Ceramic was never offered.

This all depends on dealer to dealer. The more incentive sales people have for this, the more they insist.

Yeah, anyway now I am pursuing from bordering state. Has less registration fee and no insane requirements for BH no plates.
