Do Amex ask for salary slip while applying for the card?

The reason I am asking is I have couple of big purchases this month, which will hit the 4 lakh milestone of platinum travel and all the other cards I have are of cashback types which are useless in this case from rewards point of view. My salary is 1.3 LPM. Why I am asking is because I saw many posts where it was mentioned that the amex didn't ask salary slip and many posts where the customer only got 75k limit. Which is not useful for me in this case at all. If they are asking for salary slip then atleast they will give me limit based on my salary. So can you tell me what's the case here, because if they give 75k limit or less than 1.5 lakh then that will be totally useless for me.

I currently have 5 cards ranging from 79k to 6.5L.

Thanks. Would like to know from you.

And if they don’t, you’ll know as soon as you finish application, as there would be a link to upload documents in the email they send you to complete vkyc. If you don’t see that link that means they don’t want you to upload documents. In that case, you can write to their grievance redressal and ask to submit documents referencing your application reference number. If that fails, just don’t do vkyc and don’t finish application.

No, actually I want them to ask the salary slip, so based on that hopefully they'll give me a limit. Because if they don't ask for salary and give me some smaller limit then that card won't be of any use to me, atleast for the upcoming transactions.

So, I'm thinking it's better to apply, and after getting the card I'll know the limit of it, then based on limit will decide whether to activate it or not.

Thanks.
