HDFC doesn't let me apply for a second credit card

I got my first-ever credit card from HDFC Bank in August 2023, which is a Tata Neu Infinity one (LTF).

Today, I was trying to apply for a new one through their website, but got the following error:
"It seems that you have recently applied for a credit card. Hence we will not be able to proceed with your current application."


I tried to check on the same portal even a few days ago, but got the same error even that day.

When I tried to track what my latest application number was on their website, surprisingly it was my Tata Neu Infinity one.

It has been over a year since I got that card, so I'm surprised why it doesn't let me apply for a second one.

Does anyone have any idea if it is an error specific to me or they don't let you apply for another card if you already have a co-branded one?

In my opinion it's cannot be approved.i have money back but I want swiggy but not able to apply with same number. I tried🤪 with different number before 3 days let see what happened????

Iocl Tata Swiggy

Now upgraded iocl to Millennia and Swiggy closed

Now 2 cards

You can have a floater co-branded cc with your core card holding, hdfc surely gives that, also you can always apply from respective co-branded apps for more ccs

Hlo guys i was trying to get a core hdfc card from a year i had a tata neu plus card with limit of 95k
2 months back i applied for pixel play card unknowingly transferred 10k limit to it from my tata neu plus card.
As a 10k limit was of no use i closed that card without any single transaction .
Than i was not able to apply for any new hdfc card.
Thn i emailed yo priority redressal
He gave me option to upgrade my tata neu plus to money back plus which i accepted.
Today i received a msg for adding my new money back plus card to mycards
Now mycards showing both the cards.
I just want to know will both cards work in future or tata neu plus will be closed.

Any one with such experience.

Make sure that are you able to see total limit in tata neu card ? if there is limit zero and maney back has full limit so tata will closed

Yes man tata neu limit turned zero.

Shit I was thinking i will be able to use both the card.
Can you tell from when i will be able to apply this card again?

Yes, update the result. BTW hdfc cooldown can be overridden with thirdparty apps or via branch application

Its only 50k a year to get annual fee waiver.


Swiggy hdfc application has no update neither customer care has received any application dont know whats this issue

Wait for pre approved offer I can say that if there any offer your mother doesn't need to do vdkyc open her net banking there will be banner for applying card

First got Business MoneyBack LTF pre-approved via netbanking. Then got Tata Neu Plus FYF via Neu app. So I thought Neu Plus was floater card.

Then I upgraded Neu Plus FYF to Neu Infinity LTF over email request. It would still remain a floater card right?

Then I closed Business MoneyBack. Tata Neu Infinity LTF remained active even though the lady confirming final closure of Business MoneyBack said my Neu card will also get closed. I didn't believe her and said close Business MoneyBack.

Then got Swiggy LTF via Swiggy app. So again which one is the floater card? 😆

Finally was constantly being declined via HDFC official online channel to a core CONSUMER card (since Business MoneyBack doesn't work on instant discounts). Branch/offline/C2C also declined saying I can't get Millennia as a floater card since I've 2 cobranded now.

So I tried via Paytm route in this recent November 2024 special offer. Got Freedom card via Paytm (which is a core card) LTF. So again, which one is a floater card? 🤣

Have all 3 LTF now - Freedom, Swiggy and Neu Infinity. I plan to upgrade Freedom to Millennia FYF later (since they won't directly give LTF upgrade), but I still dunno which one is a floater card especially since the very first card I got was closed after getting what I thought WAS the floater card. 😆

As per my knowledge when you closed your first card in this condition your floater card became your primary card ( main) after that all your cards are secondery ( floater) with same limit
