Horrible experience with SC Credit Card Application

I applied for a Standard Chartered Platinum Rewards card 2 weeks back as it was offered as LTF and there is nothing wrong in getting a LTF card for occasional offers.

Aftrr completing the application, I received the mail that it has been approved in principle and will receive a call from their executive for further process as the page to upload the documents did not even come up. CIBIL hit was also done at that time.

I thought after 3-4 days, I'll get a call for VKYC to complete other formalities. Also after reaching out to them multiple times on Twitter, they assured me that this will be taken on priority.

Today got a reply from them that they cannot find the application number in their system and will have to apply again. If this was the issue, why couldn't have informed about it immediately rather than giving false assurances?

Looks like I won't be a SC customer ever.

😕

My SC card applications were getting rejected online every time I applied for one. PLATINUM, SMART, EMT, ULTIMATE same story. Primary reason as I could see is my high no of credit enquiries 51 in past 6 months and high no of active credit cards 32, CIBIL though stands at 794 on date. Then 2 days back I got a savings account with SC, had to visit the bank for that, but account opening and funding was a breeze. Applied for Ultimate and Platinum again online, got rejected once more. Then I tried applying from within the SC mobile banking app as an authenticated user, this time too got rejected. But one day after this for the first time I got a call from SC, the agent asked me to send my income docs payslip to a SC official email (so no scam here). Just now got an email from SC with a new application no for Ultimate. Hoping this time I cross the bridge (marking my 33rd active cc, SC Ultimate 😋) fingers crossed 🤞what do you say @Walter White milega is baar card?

Edit: The application no was for Smart while I applied for Ultimate 😬 time to wage another war.

Bhai log ye th batao milega ke nhi?

Phir to VKYC nhi required hona chahiye
But if it gets approved it will be a record, getting Stan C Ultimate approved despite 51 recent CIBIL enquiries on record and with 32 active credit cards 🤣 that too after countless rejections from Stan C in the past Ultimate, SMART, EMT, Platinum all applied and got rejected instantly without even asking income docs. Will break a lot of myths about Stan C. Only thing that changes this time is I am a Stan C account holder that too their most basic one 25k MAB.

Time to wage a war with Stan C. Applied for SC Ultimate over call with agent, verified for the same with the verification agent. While sharing income docs also specified SC Ultimate. But when I received the application Id via mail it says Smart card - Primary card. Already started the crusade against the email cc and twitter sm team. Let the fun begin.

Damn. Seems, SC is basically another HDFC bank who speaks good English.

Do you have a SS where it is mentioned you applied for Ultimate? You can escalate it to RBI BO in that case.
I shared the documents to cc supportdocs@sc.com mentioning the documents are for Ultimate card application. Have those emails with me. Also, I have recordings of the phone calls with SC both times that clearly proves I applied SC Ultimate which bank will have to also confirm as these are recorded line calls. So if needed I will knock the RBI Ombudsman doors. 😋 ab maja ayega na beedu.
