Increasing limit on SBI BPCL credit card?

I was looking for a fuel card on Rupay platform and looked into SBI BPCL. I already have SBI simplyclick with limit of 1.7L. When I talked to customer care they ensured me that I would get limit over 1.5L in BPCL card. I applied and card got approved but I got limit of just 26k in the new BPCL card, which is very low. I am thinking of contacting customer care and get them to increase limit, and in case they don't agree then not activate this card. Should I keep this card with this low limit? I have 3 other cards with limits over 4.5L.

For a new card even a card closure threat won't work. If you really want to keep this card then continue for 6 months and send them your salary documents for LE.

I too initially have very low limit but after 5 months got LE massage....
So in my view carry on card.
Limit for fuel RPs is just 10k/month so you still can use it......

I don't really want to keep this card tbh. It was decent fuel card and on Rupay platform was a big draw. I was expecting limit to be 1L at least considering the relationship with SBI(salary account, personal account of a decade old, credit relationship through SBI simplyclick). But this limit is too low to make use of this card efficiently. Even if I keep utilisation rate at 15%, I wouldn't be able to spend the required 50k amount for fee reversal. I usually keep utilisation around 10% on my cards.

That card not activating is not a threat tbh from my side. This card with this limit just doesn't work for me. Even if I use this card just for fuel needs, I would end up doing 25-30% utilisation.

Your overall utilisation is still <30%, combined limits of all your other cards is taken, not individually.

Did they offer you LE? Or did you apply from your side?

If used on BPCL pumps which was my intention, this ₹10k limit is fine, at worst I spend over ₹6k on fuel. However if I take into account my fuel expenses, the utilisation rate of this card for me cross 20%, which is not ideal for me. I like to keep it around 10%.

Let's see how it goes with customer care. Maybe if they agree to transfer some limit from Simplyclick to this.

If you are concerned about utilisation, then request for transfer of some limit from SC to BPCL.
Yeah that seems like a reasonable compromise. I don't use simplyclick much anyway.

Btw is this a good fuel card? Where I live I have BPCL and IndianOil petrol pumps near me. HPCL is also nearby but a bit farther than first two.

Yeah it's a good card to have. Spends waiver is also just 50k.

If you want the best, upgrade to SBI BPCL Octane.

Thanks. Seems like I am overreacting based on my undue presumptions. Will ask for limit transfer only, no point harassing customer care when this is their usual modus operandi.
Exactly. SBI is known for it's stingy limits, need not to be worried of as the limit doesn't decides your credit worthiness nor your financial status.

After 5 months I got sms to reply.....
For LE.
As you stated 6k/month....
12 months make 72k....
For making it free from annual fee.

AFAIK if you want low CUR....
Pay overlimit amount before billing date.
For some months.

Just use Hellobpcl app.
And OTP way to pay at pump.
No fuel surcharge and GST above it😉
You get 0.5% cashback too👍
