Yes even though it doesn't add any value there is no harm in upgrading it.

I got upgraded last year from Classic to Preferred. Unless you are targeting some or specific benefit in Preferred, there's not much difference.

Take the upgrade. You probably won’t even be downgraded anyway. If you get imperia upgrade post this, you are entitled to a separate customer care line. No IVR, direct call

I don't recommend but if u want Free IMPS u can upgrade
U get nothing special here except nill charges on imps

No account variant cannot help u in this case especially in hdfc
If u r primary account holder this may work but varies from person to person

I'd suggest u directly req them to inc limit and upgrade ur card
Keep ur classic account(assuming u have) no need to upgrade for cc offers

Ur negotiation skills with grievance team matters more than account variant
If u want to upgrade u can but IMO it's just a tag to make the customers feel they r special but there's nothing special except direct call, some locker discounts and free IMPS and high cash transac limit of 5L monthly free in branches

It’s not a big deal. Just take it . They don’t downgrade easily. It’s not paid and there are no strings attached
