LTF SBI Credit Card offer by agent. Sounds little shady.

So, today I received a call from a unknown number from a person claiming to be credit card agent.

He offered me life time free SBI credit card. But he said one thing very peculiar. He said it will be life time free but only one time charge of 499/- will be there.

He then asked for my CIBIL. Then he asked my salary. After hearing salary of 95000/- per month (fake). But then, he said that he will issue via card to card basis. Again, it sounded a little off to me.

He even offers other bank cards too.

Now I can't decide if the guy is legit or not because I have never heard of SBI Credit Card issuing as LTF for a while.

Edit - Turns out to be some inexperienced scammers. Listen to the attached call recording to know how I found that out. Lol! 😂

Just ask him to send you an email from his official email ID, mentioning all the details which he spoke on phone. If he does this then only proceed. In this way, you will have written proof and you won't be scammed.

Ask him to send the same contents from his official email address. If he sends it but the email comes from a yahoo, hotmail, rediiffmail, live, gmail domain then it is possible he is an agent. Whatever happens, do not communicate on WhatsApp or phone. Make sure the interaction is through email only.

What ever the charges are they will be coming in you statement. Don't pay him anything directly. You will be safe. Pay the amounts to the card after the statement generation

He meant one time charge in statement only I guess. But I suspect after applying the card I may end up with a totally chargeable card. (obviously if it's not a total scam)

You will get a call asking and confirming the details. like card variant, joining fees, annual fees etc. when you get that call if they say any charges other than what he said you can just reject it. They will have that call on record
