My journey of earning 9L Edge Rewards

@kej
Wonderful post, much appreciate the breakup of the earnings.
So just wanted to understand grab deals giving rewards for insurance payment on Amazon, was that a bug? Coz my understanding is usually affiliates work by rewarding good purchases and not services like bill payments etc. or did you mean you paid the insurance premium by buying Apay vouchers on gyftr, sorry I didn't get this part

No, it wasn't a bug, more of an oversight.
I think because it was before the days people started exploiting Magnus, Axis had not put in any capping on the ER that can be earned with the 30X promotion.

I paid the insurance premium using Magnus CC on Amazon Pay directly. No gift vouchers. Now this method probably doesn't work. Even if it does there is the monthly grabdeal capping.

Hi Everyone,
I was looking at my edge rewards earnings over the past 1 year and was curious to know what's the maximum that people have been able to juice out on Magnus? I can start by showing my earnings over a period of March 2022 to May 2023:

The very high-level breakup of the earning would look something like this:
~3 Lakhs : Monthly Milestones for 12 months
~3.8 Lakhs : Holi Dhamaka 2022 Earning
~2.2 Lakhs : Through regular and accelerated rewards.

Answer to a few questions I saw in the thread:
- Do I own a business or shop/franchise?
Nope. I am a salaried guy working in Gurgaon for the last 10 years. I don't have any business spending or any special channels that I used to earn these points.

- What all categories did I spend in?
Can't recall any major segregation but spends were mostly on:
- E-commerce
- Offline shopping
- 2 personal international trips
- 2 work-related international trips ( I did for the hotel using my card and got it reimbursed from the company)
- Dining
- etc

-Were there any unknown hacks, that might have been used in the journey?
- There was one hack which contributed the maximum and that was the Holi Dhamaka offer in 2022. Axis TnC had a loophole where they didn't apply any capping. And I had an insurance payment due and I got 30X uncapped ER for that one payment! I posted about this in some public forum (Post Link). Sadly it was running only for ~5-day period in the month of March 2022!
- I do try and ensure that every single spend of my is via Grabdeal either directly or indirectly. I keep my Amazon and Paytm wallets loaded so for non-grabdeal sites also I get at least 3x.
- Another thing that has been helpful is that a lot of my spending is on 3x,5x, and 10x partners of grabdeals. Like Imy family purchases a lot from FabInia, Amazon,Healthians, etc.
-What is the approximate value of total spending incurred to reach this figure?
I'm not comfortable sharing the exact figure, but it was greater than 15L

I feel I have developed a good muscle memory on which channel/portal/payment method to use for which spending and that allows me to quickly make the right call. But trust me this hasn't been easy. I only know how much additional time I spend before buying anything just because I'm trying to maximise the rewards. And not to forget, the frown on my wife's face when I ask her to wait for 5-10 minutes in every departmental store because I'm busy buying vouchers from Grabdeals/Gyftr! 😅

Happy to help in any way I can to help you guys maximise as well.

Cheers!

Great post. Glad to see normal people are also raking in the rewards without using unscrupulous methods. Quite inspiring for people like me who recently joined the Magnus family and looking to milk it to the max by doing regular day to day spends.

I definitely relate with this, as whenever I go out with friends at Pizzahut or KFC, they also have the same reaction when I ask them to wait till I buy the vouchers from Gyftr 😆

1 question though, which I see has already been asked before, is that how do you load your Paytm wallet with 3x value?

Congrats

I thought this forum and group is matured.

But yeah, there is no difference between these type of posts here and the so called 'finfluencers' that are dime a dozen in Social media without telling how much they spent real money on the card.

I never got a reply from them in Twitter because you know why (block and collect points??). And the modus operandi is show all of this to gullible people who get into FOMO and then sell their 'advisory' business.

Just my 2 'miles'...
These will all close just a matter of time. This is a unsustainable model built on axis magnus miles. Miles go and model finishes. https://www.technofino.in/community...use-miles-is-this-business-sustainable.13602/

These guys think themselves of some warren buffet

1 dumb question. Let's say I purchase APay gift card, with 3x multiplier. So for this, I will get 1x in some days and remaining 2x after 120 days, right? Or is it 3x after 120 days?
I am 99.99% sure it is 2x, but still clarifying

Wonderful insights @kej
One thing which I would like to highlight in your spends break up is work related trips. I am a salaried person myself and I can vouch that we have an added benefit where our respective companies reimburse us for out of pocket spends done on a business trip. And not just that some companies also allow employees to provide their personal FFP or HLP numbers while travelling on a business trip and reap the benefits of loyalty programs.
