Try Canara Setu. It allows to pay any value you like. May be for some specific bank cards though.

Payment failure can happen on every portals. None of them are as refined as the golden hdfc billpay.

Not yet. Except it fails to fetch bill for Axis cards sometimes, but if you keep trying immediately it succeeds in a couple of trials.

i paid my Credit card bills using SBI Unipay yesterday (using HDFC Platinum Debit card) i thought the transaction would be instant & would show up in the Credit card transactions.. its been a day & not able to see the transaction yet..does it take a day or two to get reflected? and if so the date would be teh transaction date (29th Sep) instead of 1st Oct?

The issue is with HDFC and other banks who doesn't send instant after you pay your bill, you have to manually check the statement once you bill the bill.
