Pro Tips-

Simple way to make Any basic to mid range SBI card LTF is to "Just raise a closure of card account request through Sbi card app .After few hours you will receive a call to ask a reason for cancellation ,there tell them Either make it Life time free or cancel the card. They will make your Card LTF.Done on my both sbi card and now both are LTF.Service request to make your card LTF is taken as PCT id is to be changed. You can check in service request tracking menu.

Caution:-If you holding multiple cards of SBI then kindly do this process at one card at a time only.Do on other card after at least month. If at any point SBI Card is not agreeing on LTF and offering you Annual Fee waivers only then Accept Fee waivers at that moment and Apply the same trick Again after 1 or 2 months for LTF.
IF ANYONE HAVING ANY SPECEFIC CONCERN THEN DO DM.

Edit 1-If afterall anyone missed the call from retention team then they can simply call customer care and there simply tell them to connect/transfer you call to retention team as i want to discuss regarding my card closure request. They will connect you to their retention team and now there you can project the above trick to get your card LTF ..

Edit 2(09 July 2023)-Even people have made sbi cards having fee upto 1499 LTF and even higher varriant cards you will get equivalent reward points or miles or annual fee waiver in place of LTF.

Edit 3(15 October 2023)- Even people have made their SBI cashback credit card LTF by their skill of negotiation.

Edit 4-Now a days SBI Cards sometime, closing the card without calling so suggest now dont place request through app by self .Call customer care directly and ask them for LTF/fee waivers or to transfer the call to retention team for doing the same.

SBI Annual Fee = Joining fee, they call another one as 'renewal fee'.

Yeah just take it and save the SS for future reference.

I tried initiating the Closure request stating "Other Fees & Charges". It triggered an offer for reversal of charges but I don't see the Annual charge as one of the sub options. Should I go ahead with the closure request and expect a call from the retention team?

You can also directly call to Customer Care and ask them to transfer the call to card closure/retention team....After connection, negotiate for your need...
They called me back. As of now, they can't see any LTF offers for me. As for the renewal fee, they promised that they'll reverse it with a ticket, once the annual fee is debited. For reference, I've had SimplyClick card for the past 10 months and have about 83k in spends so far.

One question, Can I flip my SBI Simplyclick credit card to SBI Bpcl card without closing?

My card is 1 year 5 months old.
Previous year spending 75k
This year spending 77K ( in 5 months)

I tried placing closing request, emal them directly. But they are not making my card life time free anyhow.

And as I use this card to grab instant discount offers only. It's hard for me to reach 1L fee waiver. Even this year's 5 months 77k crossed. I don't think it will cross 80k mark in upcoming 7 months.

So, I am thinking if I can get BPCL card( with a lower fee waiver criteria of 50k). But I don't want to apply a fresh card right now. So, Is a flip possible with current card? If anyone has done it before please guide me.

Give a closure request and when retention department calls you, ask them to flip it to BPCL.

only SBI can tell you about this.
Also, you can always request SBI for a fee waiver once the fee is charged. They will reverse it.

Matlab jab tak life time free na ho jaye, tab tak annual fees charge hone ke baad closer request raise karna hai.

No dear....I have always said if backend team is not agreeing on LTF or fee reversal then dont proceed for closure..

Same is also mentioned in Main post..

BTW even recently closed card of sbi is also reactivated with ones negotiation skills.

Thanks bro I have reactivated my permanently closed SBI card and converted Cashback card into LTF.
