HDFC Bank RuPay Regalia Credit Card has no International Airport Lounge Access!

Recently I managed to get one of the Regalia Card converted from VISA to RUPAY variant via Email to the HDFC Team.
After receiving the RUPAY card, I dropped an email to check about Priority Pass if the old one will still continue to work or new pass will get issued.

And the response from them was a shocker - "No Priority Pass applicable for Rupay Regalia Card"

I again checked with them how the lounge access benefit will work without the priority pass and the response gave the double shock this time -
"Lounge Access benefit not there in Rupay Regalia Card"

Also not sure if any lounge benefit available directly by RUPAY for this card.

So guys anyone trying for getting their Regalia card converted to Rupay variant, please hold on to this until bank comes with dedicated product page or T&C for Rupay variant card on their website.

Though I have other cards with unlimited lounge access benefit so not concerned much with above, but disappointed with incomplete information from HDFC before converting the card to RUPAY.

Also anyone who have received the Rupay Regalia card, please check with the bank on the lounge benefit and share the response once received.

6 Complimentary Lounge Access per calendar year, outside India. Customers will be charged a transaction fee of $3.25 on their Credit card towards complimentary lounge access, same shall be reversed. Visit exceeding the complimentary quota will be allowed at the discretion of lounge and will also be chargeable by the lounge.

I guess same t&c apply on RuPay Regalia Credit Card but since, Regalia offer only 6 Complimentary International Lounge Access through Priority Pass. So, same 6 Complimentary Lounge Access benefit for RuPay Regalia Credit Card.

Now contact again HDFC bank ask for official confirmation.

No priority pass for Rupay version of Tata Neu infinity too. It is eligible only for the Rupay international lounges.

Check using first 6 digit of card https://bincheck.io/... check which version of Rupay card it is? then carry on ask with NPCI for details

rupayoperations@npci.org.in / contact@npci.org.in Some times banks don't clearly give the details... like in my case ICICI. Private banks forcefully don't maintain webpage regarding their Rupay card features.​

As far as i know... HDFC has tendency to issue such type of BINS... Just drop a mail to NPCI with first 6 digit for confirmation along with features

Thats i always try to stay away from rupay. Rupay may be india's own network & bla bla. But i always keep nationalism and finance in different boxes. RuPay-Discover/Diners Global cards offer all International lounge access offer by Diners club credit card.

RuPay Regalia credit card is RuPay-Discover/Diners Global cards.

I guess it wouldn't make any sense to offer international lounge access through priority pass when international lounge access already available through Diners club network.

Thats i always try to stay away from rupay. Rupay may be india's own network & bla bla. But i always keep nationalism and finance in different boxes. Rupay's upi have had good outcome, but i seriously doubt the same would repeat with credit cards. Visa & mastercard are old players they know how to maintain both users and merchants

For me the reason to get RUPAY was to have atleast 1% presence of Rupay among my big stack of Visa & Mastercard variant cards 😉 And also just not to miss out small but frequent Rupay card offers across various platforms like Cred shopping, Amazon Friday offer etc.

Another shock given by bank last week after recently getting my Regalia card converted to Rupay variant, my card was due renewal last month, and in latest statement I found they have added Renewal fees to my card though my existing Visa variant card was Life time free card.
Seems they treated Rupay conversion as card upgrade and changed my card from LTF to chargeable one.

After escalation, they reversed first year fees mentioning your card has been upgraded and provided waiver to FYF but I again escalated about my existing VISA card being LTF how RUPAY card can be converted to chargeable card.

Finally after a week, today they responded confirming my RUPAY variant card has been converted now to LTF.
Do keep watch on renewal fees just in case your existing Visa card was issued LTF & got your Regalia card converted to RUPAY variant recently or planning to convert in future.

Just tested Scan n Pay at one merchant, able to select Credit card to pay the amount though not transacted yet.
