I told CC because of devaluation I want to close my card. He said as you have been long standing customer of Axis so Axis is offering 5000 ER to continue the relationship. I said I’m ok. ER got credited next day.

P.S. my card is only 2 months old. Spent only 1K till now.

Keep it serious and brief. Just tell him you want to cancel and he will first try to ask why, say that not worth the fees after the recent changes I received in the email. Then he will say let me check and put you on hold. Then will ask for complete confirmation of cancellation after you say yes then only will he say okay one second sir I have received a notification of retention bonus let me check if you are eligible.
