To some who say that Qualcomm is making its own chip for Samsung , it's not a generational leap 8 gen 2 for galaxy has just a 5% faster processor and 5.7% faster GPU & slightly faster AI processing than the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

looks like the same Snapdragon Gen 2 made for galaxy has been quietly released in the RedMagic 8S Pro. After receiving a review unit of RedMagic 8S Pro it was confirmed that the same chipset as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy, and Qualcomm confirmed the same.

What is particularly interesting is that Qualcomm did not pay attention to this chipset & is now essentially referring to these minor clock speed errors as the same chip name.

This is in stark contrast to last year, when 8+ Gen 1 resulted in tremendous efficiency gains and profits that resembled an almost generational leap.

Here's numbers from stress test results

Just a 50 score difference between 8 gen 2 vs 8 gen 2 for galaxy that is 0.13% difference

To paint a proper picture Iqoo gave 8 + gen 1 on 33k neo 7 pro in july 2023

Samsung also has been running a blatantly misleading tvc claiming privacy dashboard as a Samsung exclusive

It claims it can

A. revoke accidentally clicked permissions to apps &

B. log you out remotely from devices you may have used

but reality is this is a google feature available on all android phones which scans your Google history & logs you out & revokes granted permissions

C. Knox is a secure encrypted folder whose alternative is available on most android phones & not really a something game changer

its all about taking advantage.

some may develop improved features but people only considers who told them those features.

onecard may says free timesprime subscription where in reality its VISA benefit and applicable all VISA cards, but onecard took the chance and increase their revenue.

One may call it misleading and other may call improve knowledge on those features, whichever way we see it, it looks like that.

And if we consider all of these, we may see security by default providing Linux kernal where these OSes designed.

But reality iOS says we enhanced, android says we improvised etc. at the end its who advertise more.

Unless its ones IP someone else copying..

This is just a overclocked CPU and with the branding (for which samsung might have paid extra) for marketing. Only gullible fell for it. It was evident from day 1, its going to be very minor performance gain for a larger battery impact

IIRC, they have a way to remotely log you out, lock your phone and manage it like find my which is totally independent of Google's offering. Misleading but not blatant lie

It is a game changer. Knox is hardware backed and there is no replacement in other android phones. Alternatives are only software based
