Just found out about this offer through news articles. This was not communicated by the bank to its customers.

From October 1 to November 30, cardholders can look forward to:
  • Earn 40 Marriott Bonvoy Points for every ₹150 spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of hotels—up from the usual 8 points
  • Earn 20 Marriott Bonvoy Points for every ₹150 spent on travel, dining, and entertainment—up from the usual 4 points
  • Earn over 50,000 accelerated points per month
  • Earn 2 points per ₹150 on all other eligible spends when exceeding ₹2L in a monthly spend
So depending on your status with Marriott, you can earn 55 to 66 Marriott Bonvoy points for every ₹150 you spend at Marriott properties. This is excluding 4k bonus points per stay, which will come additionally from Marriott's end.

Complete offer details can be found here.

As someone who took the 'brave' (read foolish) decision of taking this card out from the drawer, I have had a terrible experience so far.

Booked Fairfield Kolkata and paid at the hotel, received 4 points instead of 8.

Booked Air India flight from website (for 10% discount) and got 2 points instead of 4

Didn't really have it in me to fight with HDFC for a few hundred points, so let it go.

While the offer sounds really lucrative, I am not sure if their backend is even configured correctly to differentiate between hotel categories, airlines, and dining.

Have used this card at various Marriott hotels and the same has happened twice with me, first at Fairfield Agra and then at the Artiste Kochi. I sent an email to HDFC and they credited correct amount of points.

This should be an automatic process and the bank can't really expect us to keep track of each and every transaction. They give 4x points at one single brand of hotels, it shouldn't be that difficult to tell these apart.

I'm still cussing at Marriott for partnering with HDFC on this card over Amex.

Lucky you. Apparently "flights and trains do not qualify as travel", so I got base rewards for Air India🥴. I have a Marriott stay coming up, let's see what happens then🤞.

Actually Air India does fall under Travel category, according to this list of MCC.

Think it could be related to Air India's MCC? I remember reading a post on Reddit saying that Air India used a MCC belonging to GOI, because of which the cardholder didn't get 5x points on Atlas.

I saw this thread yesterday and switched my payment method from Amex to my HDFC Marriott Bonvoy card for my current stay at a Marriott property. Although Diners Club cards often have acceptance issues internationally, I was fortunate that my card was accepted at this location. Keeping my fingers crossed that the bonus rewards get credited without any hiccups!

I paid 10k for my hotel stay at leh, ladakh just to test...and i have got 1320 points as shown in hdfc app...net 13.2% return...
I am going to pay 20k more for the hotel charge...
i missed 11k payment at another hotel as i was not sure ( i thought only marriott hotel paymeny will qualify)

Airlines ideally should be under travel, but I have no idea why Grievance redressal said they do not qualify. As for MCC, I made another simultaneous transaction using Atlas and received 5x points.

Today my Luxury Collection stay was marked as Travel and not Marriott and I got less points. It feels so demeaning begging for points from people whose presence lowers the IQ of the entire street.
